This Weekend’s Warriors: Jason Kearns To Make Pro Debut in Dubai

This Weekend’s Warriors is a weekly column brought to you by SevereMMA that previews the upcoming Irish MMA action, shining a light on Ireland-based pro MMA fighters competing around the globe on any given week.

Wexford’s Jason Kearns is the lone Irishman competing this week, as he makes his pro MMA debut on Human Fighting Championship 1 in Dubai, UAE. Kearns is scheduled to face Terence Sameh (0-1) in a bantamweight showdown at Burj Park on Friday 6th November.

Kearns lives and works in Dubai, where he trains under the tutelage of Cage Warriors veteran and former IFS MMA fighter Mervyn Mulholland at Bushido MMA Dubai. Having cut his teeth on the amateur scene and competed at the 2019 IMMAF World Championships in Bahrain, “Blockhands” will make the transition to the professional ranks as he makes his debut on the Dubai promotion’s maiden event.

SevereMMA caught up with Jason ahead of his debut to discuss his background in MMA, the IMMAF experience, training in Dubai, his transition to the pro ranks and more! Check it out:

Human Fighting Championship 1 will be broadcast on their Facebook page from 5pm local time in Dubai (1pm Irish time).
