UFC 259 – Severe MMA Staff Predictions

While last weekend’s Fight Night card may have been a tad underwhelming as far as excitement goes, the UFC return on Saturday night with arguably the best PPV you’ll watch all year.

A triple header of championship action is on tap for UFC 259 with undefeated striking sensation and UFC middleweight champion Israel “The Last Stylebender” Adesanya moving up to 205lbs to challenge Jan Blachowicz’s Polish power in an attempt to dethrone the light heavyweight king and become the UFC’s latest double champion in a blockbuster main event matchup. The co-main event sees the greatest female fighter of all time and UFC double champion, “The Lioness” Amanda Nunes, defend her featherweight crown against Australia’s Megan Anderson. If that’s not enough title action to whet your appetite, bantamweight champion Petr Yan defends his belt for the first time against surging contender Aljamain “Funkmaster” Sterling.

As always, our man Ian O’Neill has you covered for a FULL preview of all this weekend’s UFC action with not one, but TWO breakdowns. You can learn about the prelims here and the main card here. But that’s not all, resident Severe MMA Polish correspondent, Seán Denny, penned a spotlight feature on Jan Blachowicz’s underdog ascent to UFC gold, so make sure to check that out too!

For now though, the Severe MMA team are here to provide our predictions for the main card fights. Let us know in the comments who you are picking and why!
