Englishman Liam “Bad Intentions” James joins SBG Ireland

Englishman Liam “Bad Intention” James has joined Straight Blast Gym Ireland and will live and train Monday to Friday in Ireland and fly home to Newcastle at the weekends.

“Since I’ve fought on Cage Warriors, every time I’ve fought, John has been there with one of his lads, and I’ve always liked the way John seems to deal with his lads. It seems like a good setup. I feel like I’ve reached a point in the north east where I’ve gone as far as i can go really”

James had made the move down to bantamweight for his last two fights following a victory over previous undefeated Frenchman Jean N’Doye at 145lbs, however it proved to be the wrong move for James and he will be returning to featherweight for the foreseeable future.

“I’ll fight at featherweight from now on. I can’t perform like I should at bantamweight. My body just won’t do it.”

We spoke to SBG Ireland head coach John Kavanagh about the latest addition to the pro fight tream.

“Liam has a fantastic work ethic and fits in perfect with the team spirit at SBG. has only been here one week and feels part of the family”
